We live on stolen land.
BTE promises to contribute to restorative justice by paying the rent and give back to First Nations for every event we hold. We encourage those in our community who have funds available to commit to one-off or recurring payments to further the work of Pay The Rent.
Deaf Connect
As the creator of BTE is HoH/Deaf as well as several artists involved BTE acknowledges to oppression Deaf comunites have suffered and aim to work to a more accessible environment.
Transplant Australia
The creator of BTE has a father who was been on a waitlist for a heart and kidney for 6 years. We aim to raise funds to create greater opportunities to give all better a better quality of life:

Big Thick Energy is a community run event and we are committed to providing access for First Nations, BIPOC and financially disadvantaged folx. We understand it is currently extremely difficult to access funds due to the global pandemic.

We acknowledge the First Nation Custodians of the land on which we live, work and play and pay our respects to Elders past, present and ongoing. Australia was and always will be Aboriginal land. We respect their creativity, connection and knowledge to the land.
